Fun and simple butterflies your little one can create this Spring through a simple chemistry science experiment. Show your little one the way the colors run and blend together coming in contact with water.
What you’ll need:
Coffee filters
Washable markers
Disposable gloves (optional)
Newspaper or area to work on
Pipe cleaners
Elastic band
Easy Steps:
Place 2 coffee filters one on top of the other
Color in half the top filter with your washable markers
Keeping one on top of the other, and spray with water
Let dry
Fold each back and forth, like an accordion
Separate the filters from each other (a similar pattern should be on both filters)
Place one on top of the other and secure the middle with a rubber band
Wrap with a pipe cleaner leaving two “antennas” sticking up (you can curl the antennas as well – see image)
Glue the middle sections of the wings together to reveal your beautiful butterfly
